Infinity Dungeon! Game Review: A Hack-and-Slash Endless Dungeon Adventure

I don’t know if it is a coincidence that games that I recently found in the Google Play Store has something to do with “endless.” Previously, I reviewed a game that lets you guide a character to an endless course of obstacles, and then a game where you fight ninjas in an endless shuriken war. This time, it’s about a game about heroes venturing in an endless dungeon to seek fame and fortune in the Infinity Dungeon! game by Zabob Studio.

As its name clearly suggests, Infinity Dungeon! is more like an arcade hack-and-slash dungeon crawler where you enter a level and clear it by defeating all the monsters in the level. Doing this will open the next level with stronger monsters.

There are three characters in the game. The knight who serves as the tank and strength of the party, the mage who heals the knight and casts fireballs to enemies, and the dwarves whose only task is to collect gold. There is also the main villain, the dungeon guardian, who appears on the 10th floor, 20th floor, 30th floor, and so on.

The knight and the mage enter the dungeon and fight the monsters and boss monster on that level. Once you successfully clear the level, a dwarf will be assigned on that level and collect gold.

Fights are done automatically. The knight will automatically attack when monsters come in contact. Your only task as the player is to keep your heroes alive and activate a skill.

There are four main skills in the game:

  • A powerful slash that deals massive damage to monsters.
  • Cast a healing spell to restore a small amount of health to the knight.
  • A thrusting slash that damages monsters and pushes them away for a few seconds.
  • Cast a fireball to damage monsters.

Activating a skill will cost you 25 MP or Mana Points. By default, you only have 100 MP so you can activate 4 skills. Your mana, however, will slowly regenerate so you can use more skills when enough MP has been replenished.

If in case your HP reaches 0, the mage will automatically casts an escape spell and bring both heroes back to the main entrance. Technically, there is no game over in this game. You can re-enter a dungeon level as many as you can until you succeed and proceed to the next level.

Once you defeat the level boss and clear a floor, the dwarf will take charge of that level and mine for gold. You will then proceed to the next level with stronger monsters. Dungeons and monsters will change every after the 10th level.

Upgrading your heroes is very important so that you can increase its survivability in succeeding dungeon levels. In the Upgrade menu, you can find options to upgrade your knight's HP, increase its attacking power, boosts its defence, and increase the mage’s magical and healing powers. You can also buy items here to add additional stats for your hero but requires a ridiculously large amount of gems. You can also upgrade your dwarves so it can gather more gold or increase your gold capacity.

Gold and gem are used to upgrade your character's stats.

Gold is earned over time by dwarves mining on each level you cleared. The more dwarves you have, the faster you earn gold. But be sure to collect your gold once the gold limit has been reached. You won't earn additional gold if the limit has been reached. You can upgrade your gold capacity so your dwarves can store more gold. Also, gold gathered will not accumulate when you minimize the app and run it in the background. The game must be actively running to earn gold. Gold can also be earned by killing monsters.

Gems, on the other hand, is harder to find than gold because you'll get them from a monster drop. If you kill an enemy using a skill, that monster will have a 10% chance of dropping a gem. Some boss will also drop gems.

You can also earn gems by either purchasing then for real money or by watching an ad video or installing a sponsored app. You can find these on the game’s Shop menu.

Speaking of ads, the game is heavily ads supported. There is an ad at the bottom of the screen and an ad will also pop out at random intervals while you’re in the game. You can, however, remove the ads by purchasing the premium version of Infinity Dungeon! Unlocking the premium version also increases your mana pool and improves mana regeneration. The premium version cost about a dollar.

So basically what you do in the game is to enter the dungeon, terminate all monsters and boss, collect gold and gems, upgrade your heroes, and enter the next the dungeon. The process repeats all over again as you venture deep in the dungeon.

This is one of the fun games that I played that requires less attention, no extra controls, or manual control for your heroes except for some screen taps for activating a skill and doing upgrades. All you need to do is to sit back, relax and watch as the heroes venture deep in the dungeon. My only big issue is the ads which can be remedied by purchasing the premium version of the game.

So far I’m at level 25 and going deeper. You can try the ad-supported Infinity Dungeon! game for free or the premium version with no ads extended mana pool and increased mana regeneration.

What do you think of Infinity Dungeon? Is it a worthy time killer game?
